Coronavirus bolstered the digital transformation strategy, SODIC

Coronavirus pandemic afflicting the whole world today has bolstered the digital transformation strategy, according to managing director of Sixth of October Development and Investment (SODIC) Eng. Maged Sherif.

“ Maintaining the well-being and safety of SODIC’s workers and their families as well as more than 20,000 population residing at the company’s housing projects is a top priority for the company, as a whole raft of mechanisms have been put in place to ensure the fulfilment of all obligations,” said he.

SODIC’s digital platform made working from home to serve the company’s objectives smoothly and quickly a viable option, after the resumption of construction works and making sure that contractors are complying with safety guidelines.

The spread of Coronavirus has squeezed SODIC, as far less housing units have been delivered during the first quarter, he explained.

“ Nonetheless, sales were less harmed in the first quarter of the year despite the cancellation of a raft of key marketing events, besides delaying the launch of phases and new projects.”

Speaking about the societal role played by company during the Coronavirus crisis, he said that SODIC extended up to EGP5mln donations in order to execute a number of initiatives relevant to combating the pandemic.

Additionally, SODIC channeled its marketing resources to serve the purpose of raising awareness about the virus using billboards and the online platforms, he elaborated.

Also, SODIC donated ventilators and video surveillance to the advantage of Sheikh Zayed Hospitals, be they public or specialized, and the public Imbaba Hospital.

SODIC, in coordination with Ministry of Health, has established isolation units to the advantage of Abbasia Fever Hospital and El Mansoura Chest Hospital.

Also, a number of isolation rooms at Mahala Fever Hospital has been installed in order to treat the Coronavirus-infected cases. Also, SODIC sponsored handing out sanitizers and awareness-raising leaflets among inhabitants of the shantytown of Ezbet Kheir Allah.
