Dr. Abd Alhalem wins Architectural Excellence Award

Architect Dr. Abd Alhalem Ibrahim, professor of Architecture at Cairo University and chairman of Halem-CDC Foundation, was declared the life-long winner of Architecture Excellence Award.

The outstanding intellectual contributions, for which Eng. Abd Alhalem was picked, took shape when he established Halem-CDC Foundation, which is en entity whose prime purpose is to help build urban and human communities on the basis of thought-out understanding and research into roots and rituals relevant to cultures, indigenous and inherited traditions, along with deep awareness of modernity prerequisites and needs.

 

 

Abd Alhalem's philosophy relies on formulating, developing and creating architectural and structural solutions by means of  observing  the structural constructs which have indigenous reference to the structural outputs of these communities.

Abd Alhalem Ibrahim, a professor of architecture at Cairo University, got the Master Degree in Architecture from Oregon University and the Philosophy Degree from California's  Berkely Unversity, at which he, later on, became a lecturer along with Harford University.

Dr. Abd Alhalim worked also as a visiting professor at Aga Kkan Islamic Architectural Program at Harford University and the U.S. MIT Cambridge.

Additionally, he worked as a lecturer and professor of Architecture at Environmental Design Faculty at California University and as a lecturer at the U.S. Virginia University.

Dr. Abd Alhalem worked also as an associate professor at Applied Architecture and Arts at the U.S. Oregon University and as a visiting professor at Vienna's International Fine Arts Academy together with Cities & Urbanity Management Program.
