TRA hails the success of this year’s edition of GITEX Technology Week
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) honored its strategic partners in the Digital Government Stand, at the conclusion of GITEX Technology Week 2020, which was held at the Dubai World Trade Center from 6 to 10 December with a wide global participation.
TRA honored the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and Prevention, the Ministry of Community Development, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, Securities and Commodities Authority, the Federal Customs Authority, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, Insurance Authority, National Qualifications Authority, Zakat Fund, Emirates Red Crescent, and United Arab Emirates University.
During GITEX Technology Week 2020, TRA showcased its most important national projects and initiatives that leverage modern technologies in facilitating government services, customer happiness, and enhancing the principle of comprehensive government and distinctive technology services.
TRA provided the Digital Government Stand’s visitors with a comprehensive presentation on the latest developments in the field of ICT, by highlighting 5 innovative projects, their role in maintaining business continuity during the past period, and their contribution to employing the best modern technologies in human, social, educational, health, security and other services.
Commenting on this participation, H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, TRA Director General, said: “At the conclusion of GITEX Technology Week 2020, I would like to congratulate the government entities in the Digital Government Stand for the success of this edition, which came in exceptional circumstances, as they were up to the expectations of our wise leadership when they announced that GITEX 2020 would be the title of the recovery phase led by the UAE, as it led the stage of readiness and business continuity at the beginning of the precautionary measures.
This year's edition represented a milestone in the history of this global event, and in the history of our beloved country. Next year, we will celebrate the golden jubilee of our blessed union, and these exceptional days will be just a memory that motivates us to accelerate the pace towards the application of digital technologies to serve people and achieve development for all.”
During its participation in GITEX Technology Week, TRA showcased the (Future Government) project, which sheds light on what the UAE will look like in the future. This project highlights the UAE’s efforts in building a future that goes beyond human imagination.
TRA also presented the latest developments of the Digital Identity project, including updates on Digital Signature and Data Vault. Additionally, as part of its efforts in facilitating the process of smart government services provision, TRA showcased the digital payment project, which aims to facilitate payment for government services.
GITEX Technology Week is the largest ICT exhibition in the region. It was held this year in line with special precautionary measures, with the aim of providing a rich, useful and safe experience for all its visitors, and introducing them to the latest developments in various technical fields.
