MARAKEZ to Sponsor Egyptian Athletes at Upcoming Tokyo Summer Olympics

MARAKEZ, one of the largest mixed-use developers in Egypt, signed a cooperation protocol with the Egyptian Athletics Federation representing the Ministry of Youth and Sports to sponsor Egyptian athletes who qualified and who are being qualified for the Tokyo Summer Olympics taking place July 23 - August 8, 2021.

The sponsorship memorandum of understanding was signed at The Park of Mall of Arabia by Dr SeifAllah Shahin, the head of the Egyptian Athletic Federation, Ashraf Maklad, MARAKEZ Chief Marketing & Innovations Officer and in the presence of the technical Director of the Federation, Dr. Mohamed AbdelRaouf Diab, Captain. Wessam Sayed, the coach of the national team as well as Hesham Shoukry, MARAKEZ Chief Human Resources and Administration Officer, Mostafa Kholief, Director of Mall of Arabia and the Egyptian shot-put athletes Mostafa Amr and Mohamed Magdi Hamza.

Egyptian Athletic Federation President Dr. Seifallah Shahin stated that MARAKEZ’s sponsorship of Olympic athletes is a major step towards garnering positive results in the Tokyo Summer Olympics.

“Business entities that sponsor our Egyptian Olympic athletes in cooperation with the government alongside civil society organizations and media, as we see happening today in support of athletes, recognize their role in helping our national Olympians achieve greatness,” said Egyptian Athletic Federation President Dr. Seifallah Shahin.

Dr. Negm Eldin praised the role of the private sector and national institutions in supporting Egyptian sports and Egypt’s promising champions, stressing that the state encourages the private sector to partner with the sports system to provide the best training and care to further develop professional Egyptian athletes and champions, especially with the upcoming Tokyo Summer Olympics.
