Egypt worked hard on housing and Mipim ought to be held in Egypt, Deputy Minister
In a speech delivered at Mipim Exhibition taking place currently in the French city of Cannes, Deputy Minister of Housing for National Projects Eng. Khalid Abbas said the State has exerted tremendous efforts in the real estate development sector in the past few years despite the headwinds, notably Coronavirus pandemic.
He added that the State tries earnestly to support the privately-owned companies across all sectors including the real estate, with the private developers' participation in this year's edition of Mipim serving as a testament to this tendency.
With Mipim Chairman Christoph Shopper among the attendees, Eng. Khalid Abbas tried to persuade the event's organizers to hold a round of this prestigious exhibition in Egypt, citing the State's extensive caring for the real estate sector, together with alluring foreign investments.
He explained that the achievements that took place recently will urge other investors to inject their own investments while the State has prepared promising opportunities awaiting them in the real estate sector.
Abbas lauded the way the exhibition is organized, and elaborated on how the Ministry was keen on resuming its participation in the exhibition which came to a halt as a precautionary measure against Coronavirus outbreak.
The exhibition, he added, provides a good opportunity for showcasing projects and varied experiments, besides meeting with real estate funds and investors.
On his part, Christoph Shopper expressed his pleasure at Egypt's participation in the Exhibition, as he lauded the Egyptian pavilion for encompassing a large number of top-notch projects. In the meantime, he confirmed that he along with the exhibition organizers will mull over the idea of holding it in Egypt through looking at how it is backed by the conspicuous progress accomplished in the real estate sector during the past few years.
