Tesla to increase output in China after sales up 36% in January

Tesla Inc.، the top American Electric carmaker، plans to increase output at its Shanghai plant starting from today till the end of next March to meet the great demand stirred up by aggressive price cuts which amount to nearly 10 % or $10 thousand on its best-selling models، such as Model Y and Model 3 after its average daily retail sales in China surged 36% over the same month a year earlier، to reach more than 25.7 thousand vehicles.

The Tesla Inc.، the top American Electric carmaker stated that it will produce a weekly average of nearly 20،000 units at its Shanghai factory over the next two months، February and March، according to the planning memo seen by Reuters reporters which detailed output plans for Tesla's most productive and profitable manufacturing hub in China، the largest car market in the world.

Tesla surges the production to its rate in last September


When Tesla surges the production، it would take the its Shanghai factory output to roughly its rate in last September، when it turned out 82،088 Model 3 and Model Y cars، while in December، the Shanghai plant had cut output by about 33 % from November last year، and extended a Lunar New Year holiday period for workers in January، to cope with rising inventory، before its price cuts of between 6% and abot 14% in China.
