EGY CRETE to set up a cement plant in Upper Egypt
The plant paves the way for supplying the national projects in Halaib and Shalateen with top-ratedcement products
The plant will supply Upper Egypt provinces with tile-interlock pavers, asthe inaugural of another one in Beni Suef is expected in 2024

In continuation of its expansions in the Egyptian market and keenness on keeping pace with the state's developmental plans, Capriole's subsidiary EGY CRETEis poised to expand in Upper Egypt through inaugurating a plant for cement products and tile-interlock paversin Beni Seuf province in 2024.
EGY CRETE's plant will supply interlock tiles and top-qualitymyriad cement products to Upper Egypt's national projects, including ones taking place in Halaib and Shalateen region.
EGY Crete, according to chairman and managing director at Capriole Mostafa Mufeed, had initiated since its incorporation back in 2017 a strategy for participating in the state-led development, renovation plans and gigantic developmental projects across Egypt.
The group, he added, was a core partner in such projects through its plant's top-grade products and in several grand projects that started in the past few years, notably the 4th Generation cities and the renovation of Greater Cairo and the provinces.
" The group is cooperating with leading contractors and governmental institutions in respect of the execution of ongoing projects in Upper Egypt and supplied cement products and tile-interlock pavers to mega projects in Haliab and Shalateen," said he.
" EGY CRETE, kicking-off Upper Egypt's projects back in 2018, expects a nationwide developmental drive to be unleashed, originating from the heart of Upper Egypt in 2022-2023."
EGY CRETEsupplied up to 200,000 meter tile-interlock pavers to the Upper Egypt provinces of Beni Sued, Almenia, Suhag, Aswan, Halaib & Shalateen, Al-Fayuom, El-Menia El Gedida, Luxor, Qena, Al-Farafra and Akhmeem, he explained.
The group strives to expand through setting up factories in Upper Egypt, so as to keep pace with the development drive and the mega projects in progress in Upper Egypt, he noted.
EGY Crete, he continued, is set to inaugurate a new plant in Al-Sadat City next year.
Further still, EGY CRETEseeks to bring in to Egypt the latest types of ceramic-like tile-interlock pavers that come with sizes ranging from 40*40 and 60*60 and were used in several mega projects, including Ahl Masr Pormenade, the New Administrative Capital, etc, together with privately-owned projects including shopping malls and compounds. Also, the company will manufacture interlock tiles with blended colors.
Over the past four years, EGY CRETEcollaborated with Egypt's top road and construction companies, notably the Arab Contractors, Hasan Al-lam Sons, New Giza, Al Rowad, Resorts Company and Curve Landscape. The company also cooperated with the New Urban Communities Authority as manifested in projects that tookplace in cities including the New Cairo, New Damietta and New Mansoura.
With its plants spanning an area totaling 18,000sqm in Badr City, EGY CRETEstarted back in 2017 to double the factories areas to 18,000sqm, and production lines to 6 lines in 2021: two lines for the production of curbstone pavers, one line for the production of brick and blocks at a capacity of 2,5mln meter per year and three lines for tile-interlock pavers with a 2,4 million meter capacity per year.
Also included among the projects that EGY CRETEis currently carrying out are the development of Alexandria's Al Montazah Suburb and the construction of NAC's projects including Al-Fattah Al-Aleem Mosque, Ministries Suburb, the Parliament, the Green River and Memorial.
As regards seaports, EGY CRETEtook part in building Al Sokhna's Dubai Seaports project and East of Al Tafreah.
In respect to airports, EGY CRETEtook part in renovating Cairo Airport and in developmental projects in the New Cities, including New Damiatta, New Mansoura, New Cairo and New Suez.
It also took part in miscellaneous projects, such as Al-Sadat City's National Animal Wealth Project, Green Houses, Al Galala's Marble Complex, Al Galala's King Fahd, Al Negela's Fish Wealth, Sakan Buildings and Dar Misr. Still, It took part in developing tourist villages and resorts for leading companies such as Emaar Egypt, New Giza, SODIC and Palm Hills.
