Eng.Tarek El Gamal: Redcon Construction cooperates with major global companies to expand green building technologies
Redcon Construction has culminated more than 15 years of efforts in implementing sustainable and green buildings during its participation in the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27), announcing strategic partnerships and speaking to top officials and major companies worldwide.
Redcon for Offices and Commercial Centers joins the UN Sustainable Communities Initiative
The company highlighted the extensive experience of Redcon for Offices and Commercial Centers , a subsidiary of REDCON Construction experience in sustainability, joining the Sustainable Communities Initiative - Building for Better Lives at the UN Global Compact (UNGC) panel in the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) as a founding member.

Two memorandums of understanding were signed on the sidelines of COP27 with Schneider Electric
He mentioned that Redcon Construction and Redcon for Offices and Commercial Centers signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) on the sidelines of COP27 with Schneider Electric for the Golden Gate Project.
The first MoU for Redcon and the second for Redcon for Offices and Commercial Centers , as part of the company's preference and interest in sustainable buildings.

The first MoU aims to benefit from the EcoStruxure™, a digital platform for innovation that combines best-in-class OT solutions with the latest in IT technology
The first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) provides for achieving Redcon's objectives to build a model for sustainable development and smart buildings using Schneider Electric's expertise and take advantage of the EcoStruxure™ platform.
EcoStruxure™ is Schneider Electric’s IoT-enabled, plug-and-play, open, interoperable architecture and platform in homes, buildings, data centers, infrastructure, and industries. Innovation at every level, from connected products to edge control, apps, analytics, and services.
Companies' expansion in sustainability increases the competitiveness of Egyptian real estate globally
The platform will allow for managing and maintaining the Redcon project’s infrastructure, including electricity, heating, air conditioning, water, gas, data centers, databases, DCIM, traffic, security, and command and control centers.
The second Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focuses on using 6D Building Information Modelling (BIM) as an innovative method of project management and design, as well as applying sustainability to energy use in all aspects of Redcon projects.

"The launch of the UNGC Egypt initiative under the umbrella of the United Nations during the COP27 conference is a stimulus to real estate workers, including development, contracting, and engineering companies, to join the initiative and work to achieve and spread sustainability and green buildings." Eng. Tarek El Gamal said.
"Working within the framework of unified plans and strategies, as well as the collaboration of all parties to achieve sustainability, has a positive impact on Egyptian real estate. Consequently, companies’ expansion in those technologies increases the opportunities for Egyptian real estate to compete globally and attract foreign investments," he added.
He also said that multinational companies and major brands require real estate to be contracted as headquarters and new branches to follow the standards of green architecture. International institutions also grant funding to buildings and institutions that follow sustainability.
The initiative aims to consolidate, coordinate, and steer the actions of all industry workers across the environmental value set. The Declaration also includes a road map for the implementation of the initiative as well as support and recognition of sustainable development standards and local and global best practices.
The United Nations Global Compact and DCarbon act as neutral parties to oversee the implementation of the Initiative's terms by the signatory companies and monitor the evolution of the Initiative's member companies and their obligation to report on the applicable criteria for monitoring progress on this basis.

Tarek El Gamal said that the company is interested in developing its expertise regularly in sustainability and various technological technologies.
"Redcon is also keen to train its workers, update them on the latest developments in green building, and provide them with opportunities to attend conferences and seminars inside and outside Egypt.
The company's sustainability and green building team have attended more than 24 international and local conferences and workshops over the past two years." He concluded.
