Egyptian Food Bank Revamps Its KidZania Experience for Young Visitors
In a move aimed at fostering social awareness and promoting the values of giving and volunteering among younger generations, the Egyptian Food Bank, the region's pioneering development organization specializing in providing healthy meals to those in need, announced re-opening its miniature model at KidZania New Cairo after renovation. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Mohsen Sarhan, CEO of the Egyptian Food Bank, Mr. Ahmed Habib, CEO of KidZania Cairo, and a host of journalists.
This launch coincides with the celebration of World Children’s Day, underscoring the importance of instilling social responsibility values in children. Through this strategic partnership with KidZania Cairo, the Egyptian Food Bank aims to deliver an interactive educational experience for children, focusing on the significance of proper nutrition and charitable work. The programs are specifically designed to raise awareness of human and social values from an early age.
Direct food aid
“Our mission extends beyond providing direct food aid to underprivileged families. It encompasses promoting social awareness about the importance of giving and participation, particularly among children, to cultivate a responsible and conscious generation.” Remarked, Mr. Mohsen Sarhan, CEO of the Egyptian Food Bank.
Echoing this sentiment, Mr. Ahmed Habib, CEO of KidZania Cairo, highlighted the partnership’s vital role in instilling the values of giving and social solidarity in future generations. He stressed that this collaboration will enhance children’s sense of community involvement and volunteering skills, contributing to the development of an engaged, proactive, and socially responsible generation.
At the Egyptian Food Bank model in KidZania, children will enjoy a unique opportunity to explore how the organization operates to serve its beneficiaries. Concepts of proper nutrition and humanitarian programs will be simplified to suit their age groups. Additionally, children will have the chance to participate in voluntary activities within the branch, fostering teamwork and community engagement. These activities include fundraising simulations, where children roam KidZania promoting the Egyptian Food Bank’s programs and collecting KidZos, the KidZania currency, as a fundraising experience to support families in need.
Marking another milestone
This initiative marks another milestone in the Egyptian Food Bank's commitment to its mission, emphasizing the importance of early education in nurturing awareness of human values and proper nutrition among future generations.
The Egyptian Food Bank places great emphasis on children through various initiatives and programs, believing that providing healthy meals to children is the first step toward ensuring a better future for them, their families, and society as a whole. These initiatives include the "Build for Tomorrow" program, which focuses on providing nutrition for children in nurseries and schools; the "Orphan Feeding" program, designed to enhance the growth and development of orphaned children through nutritious meals to boost their mental and physical abilities; and the "First Chance” program, which aims to combat stunting.
