Fondazione Roma REgeneration launches a “Call for Ideas - A Vision for Rome”, an international competition for ideas to the regeneration of the Capital

Relaunching Rome by focusing on a new city, making more attractive to national and international invetsitors, and enhancing its livability - these are the goals of the "Call for Ideas - A Vision for Rome". The initiative was presented today at Mipim in Cannes by Fondazione Roma REgeneration ETS, an organization founded to support a renewed vision of the Capital city based on sustainability principles and dialogue between both, the public and private sectors.
The competition, sponsored by the Lazio Region and the Municipality of Roma Capitale, aims to gather ideas to promote a new, cohesive vision for the city's growth and development, addressing the needs of a community increasingly focused on inclusivity, sustainability, and livability. The call is open to multidisciplinary teams composed of professionals, university researchers, experts, and representatives of civil society, bringing together diverse expertise such as architecture, urban agronomy and botany, anthropology and sociology, economics, mobility, and urban technologies.
The Foundation intent to integrate a wide range of national and international expertise and experiences to provide Rome with comprehensive and innovative proposals. The competition, whose announcement will be published tomorrow on the Foundation's website, will be officially presented in detail during a dedicated launch event on April 16th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Scuderie of Palazzo Altieri in Rome, located in Via Santo Stefano del Cacco, 1.
The best projects, selected by a dedicated panel of experts, will be announced and awarded substantial economic prize during the second Roma REgeneration Forum, scheduled by February 2026, following the second phase of the competition process. Additionally, special mentions will be given for innovative solutions in two key areas: "Mobility, Transport, and Urban Regeneration" and "The Tiber as a Catalyst for a New Rome".

This competition will allow us to select the best proposals that presenting a comprehensive vision for the city's development, offering innovative, multidisciplinary solutions focused on people and enhancing Rome’s attractiveness on an international scale", said Gianluca Lucignano, President of Fondazione Roma REgeneration.
