Egypt records a toll of 21 deaths, 399 new cases on Friday

Egypt records a toll of 21 new deaths for Covid-19 patients on Friday, according to daily briefing issued by Ministry of Health.

Up to 173 coronavirus cases recovered from coronavirus, driving up the total number of patients who were allowed to leave hospitals to 2,799, the Health Ministry added.

Also, new deaths recorded this Friday reached 21, ramping up the fatalities toll to 592, the Health Ministry added.

The country confirmed 399 new coronavirus cases on Friday, with the total infections since the first case was discovered in February reaching 11,228.

Ministry of Health continues to keep alert to any emergencies nationwide and take precautionary measures against any viruses or infectious diseases.

Hot lines of 105 and 15335 have been allocated to take people’s queries regarding coronavirus and infectious diseases, according to MH.

A three-stage plan seeing life gradually return to normal has been released on May 14.

The plan helps Egyptians cope with the coronavirus pandemic in weeks and months to come.

The plan rests on resuming normal life cycle while abiding by precautionary measures.

Ministry of Health advised cinemas, theaters, cafes, fitness halls and sports clubs to remain closed during the period of coexisting with the coronavirus.

The first phase of the plan is set to start early June.

A ban on weddings and funerals will remain in place, while universities, schools, kindergartens and nurseries are to be suspended.
