Huawei Technologies Celebrates its 20th Anniversary in Egypt

Huawei Technologies, the leading global ICT solution provider held a virtual ceremony in light of celebrating its 20th years in the Egyptian market. During the celebration, they reviewed the changes that Huawei brought to Egyptian people's lives in the past 20 years, highlighted the importance of ICT infrastructure in promoting the goal of achieving digital Egypt, and connecting everyone together.
Huawei also reassured their commitment to Egyptian market through bringing the latest ICT technologies, helping in cultivating local ICT talents and achieving Egypt’s digital transformation goals.
H.E. Dr. Mohamed Elbadri, Egyptian Ambassador to China, H.E Mr. Liao Liqiang, Chinese Ambassador to Egypt, and H.E. Mr. Han Bing, Minister Counselor of China to Egypt, Their Excellences several Egyptian Ministers and H.E. Chairman of AOI sent their greetings to Huawei’s 20th Anniversary event and praised the long-term cooperation. Furthermore, Huawei’s valuable partners and Huawei Management attended topped with Mr. Houtao, Global VP of Huawei Technologies, Mr. Cao Jibin, President for Huawei Northern Africa Region, Mr. Edward Zhou, VP of Huawei Global Public Affairs, Mr. Philippe Wang ,Executive Vice President for Huawei Northern Africa Region and Mr. Vincent Sun, CEO of Huawei Egypt etc.
During the event, Huawei released the “Huawei Story” book Arabic version to the audience for the first time, and various interviews were played narrating Huawei’s success stories along with their impact on the Egyptian society, showcasing the journey of dedication and contribution to Egypt. Additionally, tributes from the Egyptian ambassador to China, Chinese ambassador to Egypt, Huawei Egypt’s different departments, customers, partners and employees presented the reasons for Huawei's success.
As part of this anniversary event, Huawei reviewed their support to youth empowerment in Egypt. Over the past 20 years, Huawei has set up 196 ICT academies in Northern Africa top universities and professional colleges.
These academies have cultivated over 30,000 talents in routing & switching, storage, cloud computing, cloud services, 5G, and AI, granted Huawei professional technical certifications to over 6,000 people. In Egypt, more than 260 online courses were provided at Egypt ICT Academies, and trained more than 5,500 students.
In the 5th Huawei Global ICT Competition of 2020, Egypt won the grand prize of Cloud Track and is continuing to develop their ICT Talent program during the epidemic.
