City Edge Developments is the gold sponsor of the "ElFit Crossfit Championship 2022” held in Sports City at ‘Nadi El Nadi’ in the New Administrative Capital
More than 1,200 players from 44 countries will compete in eight sports from November 10th to November 12th
City Edge Developments announced that it will be the gold sponsor for ‘ELFIT Crossfit Championship 2022,’ organized by ‘In The Zone Sports” and held under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and The Street Workout & Functional Fitness Federation.
ELFIT Crossfit Championship 2022, is the biggest fitness sport Festival in the Middle East and North Africa. The announcement came during a press conference held this evening, Tuesday, November 1st at the St. Regis Al Masa Hotel in the New Administrative Capital, and in the presence of Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, Eng. Sherif Taha Chief Development Officer of City Edge Developments, Adam ElZoghby , founder of In the Zone Sports and founder of the Fit Championship, and Hassan Gabr, fitness expert and founder of the Gorilla Fit Program and Primate.
As announced during the conference, ELFIT will be held at the Sports City ‘Nadi El Nadi’ club in the New Administrative Capital, from Thursday the 10th of November to Saturday the 12th of November, with the participation of more than 1,200 players from 44 countries in eight different Challenges. The challenges are ELFIT Rookies, ELFIT Juniors, ELFIT Strong Man, ELFIT Lift-It, ELFIT Rowathon, ELFIT Calisthenics and ELIFT Endurance along with ELFIT main Championship. These are the challenges that ‘In The Zone Sports’ has excelled for more than 10 years, and became one of the biggest and most important fitness festivals in the Middle East and Africa.
Leader in hosting international sporting events
During his speech, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, said that Egypt has become a leader in hosting international sporting events due to its efficiency in hosting such events and this comes in light of Egypt’s interest in hosting various competitions, events and major sporting events. Minister Sobhy added that the ministry strives to optimize the use of sports facilities by sponsoring sports events that benefit the youth and the Egyptian society and promote sports and international tourism in Egypt. He also expressed his pleasure with hosting a 100% Egyptian event founded by Egyptian youth that helps achieve global success.
Eng. Sherif Taha Chief Development Officer of City Edge Developments, stated that sponsoring this fitness festival proves that the real estate companies are no longer isolated from other fields and are showing more interest in social and sports activities in line with Egypt’s vision 2030. El Dahan added that this sponsorship also reflects City Edge Developments constant efforts to support this kind of sport in Egypt, especially since it has a positive impact on the general health on all age groups who practice it.
Adam Zoghby, founder of In The Zone Sports, stated that ELFIT CrossFit Championship played a major and essential role in spreading the idea of CrossFit and sports events in Egypt, and the ELFIT CrossFit Championship inspired hundreds of young people to focus on fitness and encouraged them to establish private fitness clubs. Zoghby added that ELFIT Championship was the first special sporting event in Egypt for young people of both genders and resulted in the rise of many major sporting events in Egypt such as marathons, triathlon, and fitness. Furthermore, in December 2019, ELFIT Championship was held in Bahrain, making it the first Egyptian event to cross the border.
