Baaz، the first Arab-centric social media platform، announced that the total number of active users has reached seven million، around three million of which are from Egypt. In record time، these individuals formed thousands of communities — a feature recently launched on Baaz. On top of that، Baaz unveiled distinctive features and a monetization program to attract the creators of valuable and specialized content in Egypt.
Musab Sharayri، Chief Executive Officer of Baaz Inc.، elaborated on their newly launched ‘Referral Program’، saying: "Currently، we share 100% of our advertising revenues with users via our distinguished ‘Referral Program’. It is a confident first step in our journey to build the largest and most diverse gathering of Arab communities on the internet. Ultimately، our aim is to foster valuable and specialized digital، Arabic content، which we have set in mind since the launch of Baaz communities.”
300% increase in the number of user posts
Sharayriadded: "Since the launch of the platform in Egypt back in August 2022 and until the end of last year، the platform witnessed a 300% increase in the number of user posts and the volume of interactions on them، as well as a 150% increase in the number of active users. We believe this affirms that our communities need it."
Moving forward، Baaz will carefully design a model for sharing advertising revenues from the platform with users، while continually improving the model as it grows. As a first step to enable its users to monetize their activity، the ‘Referral Program’ awards users every time they successfully invite someone to join the platform. Through the program، all users will be able to earn up to $200 per month.
In order to facilitate the collection or transfer of payments that users earn via the ‘Referral Program’، Baaz announced the signing of a partnership agreement with Fawry، the leading provider of e-payments and digital finance solutions in Egypt. Under the partnership، users of Baaz will be able to utilize Fawry’s seamless services to handle earnings from the ‘Referral Program’.
Commenting on the partnership،Shorouk Barham، Marketing Director of Baaz Inc.،said: “Our partnership with Fawry confirms our commitment to amplify the ‘Referral Program’ in Egypt، while facilitating the process. Consequently، this partnership will contribute to accelerating the growth of Baaz communities here. So far، we have succeeded in increasing the number of active users from Egypt alone to nearly three million. We are currently in the process of intensifying our marketing activities to enhance the awareness of the Egyptian public about Baaz as the first Arab-centric social media platform.”
Baaz seeks to promote and support engaging content on the Internet by being the largest and most diverse gathering of Arab communities. In order to achieve this vision، Baaz offers users a wide range of tools. The most prominent among them are audio rooms that can be created within public or private communities. These enable users to communicate live on topics that are of common interest to them. The platform also contains the features of live broadcasting، video and audio calls، among others.
‘Referral Program’
By launching the ‘Referral Program’، partnering with Fawry، launching the advertising feature on the platform، and integrating audio rooms into communities — Baaz is reaffirming its commitment to the roadmap it has drawn for itself and which is consistent with its vision of building the largest gathering of specialized Arab communities on the internet and focusing on valuable and specialized content. Baaz also stated that the company is looking to hold an investment round at the end of the year to raise the company's capital، in order to keep pace with the large and rapidly growing platform that it seeks to expand.
